Only 10% human?! What’s all that about!
It’s taken me a while to work out that something was seriously wrong me. No seriously I was out of whack!
You couldn’t really tell on the outside, except for the random bloated stomach and the strange on/off sleep patterns despite my routine efforts.
I started monitoring and keeping notes of what I would do each day, food intake, if I was over busy or stressed and any other factors e.g: eating enough meat, taking vitamins, training quality and quantity menstrual cycle…
I couldn’t figure it out.
After researching, taking notes, I stopped eating some foods all together like the splash of milk in my coffee but it made such little impact …. I couldn’t figure out what I was feeling and the body I could see didn’t match the ‘effort’ and the consistency of my daily lifestyle?! NOT FAIR! Wait…wait…..Leaky Gut?!
You may have Leaky Gut Syndrome if you experience any of these symptoms:
- Gastrointestinal complaints: Abdominal pain, bloating, constipation, diarrhea, gas, indigestion, heartburn
- Neurological disturbances: Aggressive behavior, anxiety, confusion, fuzzy or foggy thinking (brain fog), mood swings, nervousness, poor memory

NO I don’t have all the symptoms but YES I can say I have a multitude of them, specially the BLOAT and BRAIN FOG!
What I’ve learned: – so far
Through my GUT cleanse journey….keeping in mind I am only 2nd week into what will likely be another 10 or so weeks.
1. Lose WEIGHT – Well lets cut to the top reason people are likelyto try something (diet, etox, crossfit lol). Yes losing fat will happen. Why? Gut microbiota – is also the part of the microbiome that is most important in terms of weight regulation. Sort out your bodies bacteria, sort out your weight, inflammation and likely many other diseases. Personal Note: dropped 2.3kilos in 10 days – fat loss, water
(retention) and a cleaner stomach eeeww
2. SLEEP zzzzzzzz – Yes glorious and well missed, good quality, restful, peaceful SLEEP! Of course you need to peel yourself away from work or the screen to start it but once your there, with a clean gut, intestines well lined with good bacteria, no bloating, joint pain, fuzzy brain and a happy and proactive day – Your going to SLEEP baby like you never slept before! Personal Note: Same amount of sleep but DEEP, relaxed and waking clear – Yes!
3. Superhero status! Honestly, you don’t have to have a humungous stomach to feel a whole lot better after fixing your gut (digestion). Actually for some it can mean increases in muscle mass, serious fat loss in areas such as under-the-bum and if the study I’ve been doing is correct having healthy bacteria and the correct balance, lining of the stomach and organs is all inline then I’ve just given 80% of me (given only 10% is actually human) the best life change you could ask for. Personal Note: I feel sharp, energetic, intrigued watching my body change – wish i could see the inside or better yet be laboratory tested daily – ok that’ll be over the top.
4. DRUGS ARE BAD! Well i knew this already but I have lerned that medications such as antibiotics or in my case ibroprofins (from hip pain and previous surgeries) is a BIG contributor to having a Leaky Gut! Here’s a idea of what could cause it: Low fiber, high-sugar, processed foods. Overuse of medications such as antibiotics, acid blockers, hormones and ibroprofins. Low-grade bug (microbe) imbalances – yeast, bacterial overfown and …..parasites! Yuck!
